Maturing mid to late season, the Afourer mandarins are juicy, almost seedless and have a sweet refreshing flavour. Mandarins are usually eaten plain, but are delicious in a fruit salad. A ripe mandarin is firm to slightly soft, heavy for its size and pebbly-skinned. They’re a good source of vitamin C and a useful source of dietary fibre. Best stored at an ambient temperature.
